The Sing Thing Choir
Last updated: August 2026
By becoming a member of The Sing Thing Choir (“the Choir”), you agree to the following Membership Terms & Conditions.
1. Membership & Rehearsals
Membership of The Sing Thing Choir includes:
-
Weekly choir rehearsals during our scheduled terms
-
Approximately 10 rehearsals per term
-
Tuition and guidance from an experienced choir leader
-
The opportunity to learn and sing a varied selection of songs and harmony arrangements
-
Opportunities to take part in performances, events and other choir activities where available
-
Access to all Sing Thing Choir locations as set out in Section 12
We normally operate three approximately 10-week terms each year. Exact term dates will be communicated to members and may occasionally vary.
Membership is available either on a termly basis or through our monthly membership plan.
2. Membership Fees & Payment
Monthly Membership
Monthly membership costs £27 per month.
The annual membership cost of £324 is spread evenly across 12 monthly payments and covers three approximately 10-week choir terms each year.
The monthly payment plan spreads the cost of membership evenly throughout the year. Your £27 payment does not relate to a specific number of rehearsals taking place within that particular calendar month.
Monthly payments therefore continue during scheduled breaks between terms, including periods where there may be fewer or no regular rehearsals.
Monthly membership continues until cancelled in accordance with Section 4 below.
3. Missed Rehearsals & Refunds
Membership fees are not refundable for rehearsals missed by an individual member, including absence due to holidays, illness, work commitments or other personal circumstances.
As membership provides access to all Sing Thing Choir locations, members may attend another location during the same membership period where an alternative rehearsal is more convenient.
We cannot guarantee that an identical rehearsal or the same material will be covered at each location.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights.
4. Cancelling Your Membership
Monthly Members
Monthly members may cancel their membership at any time by providing one full month's notice.
All cancellations must be made in writing by emailing admin@thesingthingchoir.co.uk.
Your notice period begins when we receive your written cancellation. One further monthly payment may therefore become due after notice has been given.
Your membership will remain active until the end of your final paid membership period.
Cancelling or stopping a payment directly with your bank or payment provider does not constitute notice of cancellation. Please contact us at the email address above so that we can correctly close your membership.
5. Changes or Cancellations by The Sing Thing Choir
Occasionally, circumstances may mean that we need to:
-
Change a rehearsal time or date
-
Move a rehearsal to an alternative venue
-
Arrange an alternative choir leader
-
Cancel or reschedule a rehearsal
Where reasonably possible, we will give members advance notice of any changes.
If a rehearsal is cancelled by The Sing Thing Choir, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule the rehearsal or provide an appropriate alternative where possible.
Where another Sing Thing Choir location is operating, members may also choose to attend an alternative rehearsal.
6. Behaviour & Conduct
The Sing Thing Choir is intended to be a welcoming, friendly and inclusive community, and we want everyone attending to feel comfortable and respected.
Members are expected to:
-
Treat other members, choir leaders, venue staff and visitors with kindness and respect
-
Help us maintain a friendly and supportive environment
-
Follow reasonable instructions given by the choir leader or venue staff
-
Avoid behaviour that is discriminatory, threatening, abusive, persistently disruptive or otherwise inappropriate
The Sing Thing Choir reserves the right to ask a member to leave where their behaviour seriously or repeatedly affects the safety, wellbeing or enjoyment of others.
Depending on the circumstances, membership fees may not be refundable where membership has been terminated as a result of serious or persistent misconduct.
7. Health, Safety & Accessibility
Members are responsible for deciding whether they are physically able to participate in choir rehearsals, performances and other activities.
Please let us know about any accessibility requirements or relevant information you feel we should be aware of so that we can make reasonable efforts to support your participation.
Members are expected to follow reasonable health and safety instructions provided by The Sing Thing Choir, choir leaders or the venues in which we rehearse and perform.
8. Photography & Video
Photographs and video may occasionally be taken during rehearsals, performances and events for use on The Sing Thing Choir's website, social media channels, advertising and other promotional materials.
We understand that not everyone is comfortable appearing in photographs or video. Members may let us know if they would prefer not to be included, and we will make reasonable efforts to respect this.
If you have concerns about an image or video in which you appear, please contact us at admin@thesingthingchoir.co.uk.
Further information about how we collect, use and protect personal information can be found in our Privacy Policy.
9. Personal Data & Privacy
We collect and use personal information where necessary to manage your membership, process payments, communicate with you and operate The Sing Thing Choir.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation and our Privacy Policy, which is available on our website.
10. Personal Belongings & Liability
Members are responsible for their own belongings while attending rehearsals, performances and events.
The Sing Thing Choir cannot accept responsibility for loss of or damage to personal property unless this results from our negligence or where liability cannot legally be excluded.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful.
11. Performances & Events
Membership may include opportunities to participate in performances, social activities and other choir events.
Participation in performances and additional activities is optional unless clearly stated otherwise.
Some additional events, workshops or activities may carry a separate charge. Where this applies, the cost will be made clear before members choose whether to take part.
Performance opportunities, dates and venues are subject to availability and may occasionally be changed or cancelled.
12. Membership Locations
Your membership gives you access to all Sing Thing Choir locations, so you are welcome to attend whichever location works best for you.
You may have a regular choir that you usually attend, but you are free to visit another Sing Thing Choir location if you miss your usual rehearsal, your plans change, or you simply fancy singing with another group.
There is no additional charge for attending a different location as part of your active membership.
Members may attend more than one location where they wish to do so. However, all rehearsals remain subject to venue capacity and any exceptional circumstances that may temporarily affect a particular location.
Please be aware that different locations may occasionally be at slightly different stages of learning a song or arrangement, and rehearsal schedules may vary.
13. Complaints & Concerns
We want members to feel comfortable raising any concerns with us.
If you have a problem, concern or complaint, please contact us in writing at admin@thesingthingchoir.co.uk.
We will aim to consider and respond to concerns fairly, respectfully and as promptly as reasonably possible.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Membership Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our membership, services, pricing or legal requirements.
The latest version will always be available on The Sing Thing Choir website.
Where a significant change directly affects an existing membership, we will make reasonable efforts to notify affected members in advance.
